No. You can import an entire official set into a box in one step with Plus, and import completed BrickLink and BrickOwl orders directly into your inventory. Most people start with the parts they actually search for, not the whole collection at once.

Not yet. Camera recognition of parts is in development and will come in a later update. What the camera does today is read the QR codes on your storage labels — that’s a different thing, and it works well. Partfolio today is about knowing what you own and where it is. I’d rather ship that properly than ship part recognition badly.

No, and this matters more than it sounds. Any ordinary printer and a sheet of A4 or US Letter sticker paper will do — Partfolio lays the labels out for you and tells you how many fit on a page. If you own a Brother or DYMO roll printer it supports those too, including 40 x 15 mm drawer-front strips and a narrower 40 x 10 mm option for 12 mm continuous rolls. What you can’t skip is the printing itself: the camera reads QR codes, so a code written by hand isn’t something you can point the phone at. If a sticker gets torn or sits on a shelf you can’t reach, you can type its seven-character code in by hand instead — but that’s a fallback, not a way around the printer.

No. Labels you print in advance carry only the code, plus an optional blank space to write a name by hand — so they stay true no matter how often you rearrange things. The code is the permanent identity of the sticker; what it points to lives in the app and can be changed as many times as you like. If you do choose to print a label with the box name on it, Partfolio remembers the name it printed and quietly suggests a reprint if you ever rename that box.

After that, the free plan keeps 1 collection, unlimited boxes, and up to 100 different parts (each unique part-and-color row counts once — adding more of a part you already track stays free), plus full search, statistics, manual wanted lists, picking grouped by box, unlimited QR label scanning, printing a label for any box, and BrickLink XML export. Plus adds unlimited collections and parts, set imports, order imports, BrickOwl and Pick a Brick exports, generating and printing labels in bulk, and cloud backup and sync. There are no ads on any plan.

No. Scanning is free on every plan, forever. You put those stickers on your own furniture on the strength of a promise, and taking them hostage later would be indefensible. What Plus covers is generating and printing labels in bulk — growing the system — not reading the ones you already have.

Nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden. You keep seeing and searching your entire inventory, however big it got during the trial, and you can always take parts out of any box and adjust quantities on parts you already track so your counts stay honest. What stops is adding new part-and-color rows once you reach 100 on the free plan. Exporting everything is free forever. The free plan is limited in how it grows, never in what it tells you.

Your inventory is stored on your device and, if you’re on Plus, backed up to your own private cloud storage. You can export everything — BrickLink XML, CSV or a full JSON archive — or delete your account at any time from Settings, on any plan. Cloud backups you’ve already made aren’t wiped if your subscription lapses.
